Dr. Briick has been in the field of addiction medicine since 1986. She began her career as a certified drug addiction counselor and now spends her time assisting treatments centers in applying best practices to their treatment continuum. It is because of that early work that she learned the value of providing individualized care to clients and the connection to return to use, healing family systems, and payer sources.
Through her independent consulting firm, located in the Metro Atlanta area, she works with small to mid-size treatment programs from across the United States. The focus of her work centers around licensure, clinical competency, and best practices including utilizing the ASAM criteria during the treatment process.
Dr. Briick graduated with honors from Cappella University where she earned a PhD in healthcare administration. She also holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in rehabilitation. In addition to her consulting work, Dr. Briick is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Federation of State Physician Health Programs (FSPHP), a CARF ASAM level of care surveyor, and a member of the ASAM faculty.
Favorite past-times are participating in activities that get her outside like rock climbing, camping, and mountain biking and working with scouts in the BSA program.
